About
Sophia Perone she/her is a New York-based choreographer and movement artist currently working at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC). She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, a B.F.A. in Dance from the Peabody Institute, and is currently pursuing a M.A. in Performing Arts Administration from New York University. ​
Her mission is to ignite inspiration and provoke thought, challenging conventional norms through her art. She views dance not merely as performance but as a gateway to political discourse, societal development, community building, and cultural preservation.


Sophia's choreographic work has been presented at Baltimore Theater Project, Peridance KnJ Theater, Palm Springs International Dance Festival, Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center, The Peabody Institute, RadFest, Koresh Dance, 14th Street Y, DUMBO Dance Festival, Mark Morris Dance Center, and Judson Church. She is currently a collaborator with Mignolo Dance, and has performed works by Danielle Agami, Sorah Yang, Diedre Dawkins, Yoshito Sakuraba, Christian Denice, Mike Esperanza, Dolly Sfeir, and Madi Hicks, amongst others.
